| Snowshoe Tour Themes & Itineraries The Chamonix Valley is blessed with every imaginable quality we might seek to include in a snowshoe trip. My approach is to understand your experience level, interests and aspirations, and use my knowledge of areas, weather and snow conditions to tailor the right itinerary for you. The main options are a full day walk, a half day, or a torchlit evening walk to a restaurant. Here are some of the highlights we can seek to emphasise that make a snowshoe trip so rewarding: |

Fun & Relaxation
It doesn’t have to be strenuous! There are many rewarding snowshoeing options that don’t require a lot of exertion. We can sometimes use ski lifts to give the legs a rest, and there is an abundance of suitable places to stop for a hot chocolate or vin chaud while taking in the view. There is always time to stop and observe our surroundings, get to know one another, and have a laugh and a joke. A sense of fun is far more important than a high level of fitness or toughness.

| Wilderness
“Wilderness is not a luxury, but a necessity of the human spirit” Snowshoeing offers an almost unrivalled ability to explore the many wild, unspoilt areas that surround the Chamonix valley. It isn’t long before we are away from signs of civilisation, and tramping through the silent splendour of the winter wilderness. WildlifeSnowshoeing is one of the best ways to observe Alpine wildlife at close quarters. Most of our routes are unfrequented by man in winter, and particularly in woodland we may encounter shy wild animals such as foxes, deer, hare, chamois, and even ibex. |

Challenge & Views
The Mount Blanc Massif and surrounding Alps provide some of the finest high mountain panoramas in the world. It is within most peoples’ ability to comfortably ascend one of many lesser-known peaks, for a breath-taking 360 degree view all to ourselves. Overnight ExpeditionsFor the more adventurous, how about a 2-day/1-night journey, spending the night in a remote mountain refuge? Normally the preserve of climbers and mountaineers, the Chamonix valley is well served with refuge huts in dramatic high mountain locations. Contact me to discuss your aspirations, and I will propose an itinerary and costing. |
