Description

Ideal for those who wish to really get away from it all, immerse themselves in the Mt Blanc region, and gain personal skills in snowshoe travel and off-piste safety.

With 5 walking days at our disposal, we would plan to snowshoe in a variety of locations in and around the Chamonix valley to experience the very best views and walks the region has to offer. This might include venturing into neighbouring Switzerland or Italy, or even undertaking a 2 day snowshoe journey, staying overnight in a remote mountain refuge – a unique and unforgettable Alpine experience. (Please note that the whole group must agree to this, and that accommodation at the refuge for the group and leader is at the group’s expense).

Tours are graded separately, grade B (moderate) and grade C (strenuous), to allow you to select a level that matches your fitness and aspirations. For an explanation of walking grades, visit the Practical Info page.

Schedule

Day 1 (Sat) – arrival. Evening introductory briefing at accommodation, followed by group dinner.

Days 2-6 (Sun-Thur) – snowshoeing, Mt Blanc region. This will take the form of a series of day walks, carefully chosen by the leader to fit with the aspirations of the group, and make the best of the conditions.

Day 7 (Fri) – at leisure, Chamonix.

Day 8 (Sat) – depart, morning.
