Phil Jarratt, International Mountain Leader (IML)

I aim to offer the winter visitor to the Chamonix valley an alternative experience to skiing, with the emphasis being on enjoying the alpine environment – views, peaks, wildlife, tranquility and culture.

I’m British, but have lived for the last 4 years in Switzerland and France.

I am an International Mountain Leader (IML), and member of the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations. I have also undertaken specific supplemental training on snow-shoe travel.

The IML is an internationally recognised qualification for leading trekking and mountaineering activities worldwide (excluding on glaciers and where climbing equipment is needed).

My enthusiasm for mountainous parts of the world has seen me trekking and expeditioning in Europe, South America, the Himalayas, Southeast Asia, China and Mongolia.
