I’m Phil Jarratt, director of British-Snowshoe-Tours.com, and leader on most snowshoe trips.
I aim to offer the winter visitor to the Chamonix valley an alternative experience to skiing, with the emphasis being on enjoying the alpine environment – views, peaks, wildlife, tranquility and culture.
I’m British, and divide my time between the UK and France according to the season.
I am a British International Mountain Leader (IML), and member of the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations.
The IML is the internationally recognised qualification for leading trekking and mountaineering activities worldwide (excluding on glaciers and where climbing equipment is needed).
My enthusiasm for mountainous parts of the world has seen me trekking and expeditioning in Europe, South America, Southern Africa, the Himalayas, Southeast Asia, China and Mongolia.
